3 Weeks
Dive into the vibrant underwater world of the Banda Islands with this immersive 3-week program. Designed for marine enthusiasts and students alike, this excursion combines hands-on scientific training, scuba diving adventures, and cultural exploration. About
The excursion is designed to provide an in-depth education on marine biology and the coral reef ecosystems of the Banda Islands.
It also offers participants the chance to immerse themselves in the local culture by visiting spice plantations, exploring Banda Besar, learning about waste management initiatives, and engaging with local youth. A significant component of the program includes scuba diving, with participants expected to complete approximately 30 logged dives around the Banda Islands as part of their experiential learning.
This excursion is ideal for students of Biology, Marine Science, and Fisheries, but it also welcomes individuals from various backgrounds who have a keen interest in marine environments. Topics covered during the trip include basic oceanography, marine biodiversity in Indonesia, coral identification, coral spawning, as well as identifying various fish and invertebrates.
